The word constructivist come from the word constructivism which is a theory of knowledge that argues humans generate knowlegde and meaning through experiences. The relavence of this statement is to inform about a Constructivist lesson plan. A constructivist lesson plan is a way of teaching which consist of six important elements: situation, grouping, bridge, questions, exibit, and reflections.
These six steps have been broken down in detail to be able effectively teach the students so that they will have a prper understanding of the materials or the tasks tat are being taught. A constuctivist lesson plan is a highly effective way of teaching because students learn best by things t that they can actually visualize or see happening, something that they can see themselves doing in every day life. This lesson planning includes ploblem solving skills, answering questions, creating metaphors, desicion making, and many other skills needed to live everyday life. The grouping aspects allows students to expand their minds either by themselves or with other students to learn a few vocabukary and presenting skills in front of people when they have physically model their experiences in front of the classroom.
The brigding method is what i believe is the strongest method because that is when the student actually uses prior knowledge befor the class room and make connections, which is scientifically proven that you learn more when you familiarize yourself with things you have already encountered in your previous experiences to retain information. Once briding has accured that's when the questioning come into plang. As a teacher using the constructivist lesson plan you want to always keep thinking going. Ask questions to make student prior information pop up and make students explain. The second to last step is to exibit when the student has to give a verbal presentation with models and thing that will motivate the student to illustrate their peers to understand their reasoning and decision making sking skills.
The last step is reflections which is basically self explanitory but as a teacher a teacher you want to see what did the students retain from the lesson. how the do the students feel. has their spirit changed, what will they take with them outside of the classroom.
